Nathaniel Berube saved his best weekend of the semester for the last one. The Assiniboine College Cougars outside hitter racked up 31 kills to help his team sweep the Université de Saint-Boniface Les Rouges and head to the break tied for second place in the men’s volleyball standings.
The Providence University College Pilots were in rare territory they didn’t want to be in. Tyra Peters helped them climb out of it. The fifth-year left side led the PUC women’s volleyball team to back-to-back wins, snapping a four-game losing streak that had them under .500 for the first time in a long time.
Duncan Petrie was as consistent as it gets on the weekend. The fifth-year right side from Canadian Mennonite University posted 15 kills and a .538 hitting percentage twice in a row, leading the Blazers to back-to-back wins.
Sadie Falk is quickly finding form and making a big impact for the Université de Saint-Boniface Les Rouges. The rookie left side posted 13 kills and three aces in Les Rouges big 3-2 victory over the first-place Canadian Mennonite University Blazers on Saturday.
