Fans won’t have to wait long for a rematch of both MCAC basketball finals. The regular season kicks off where last season ended, with the Providence University College Pilots visiting the Canadian Mennonite University Blazers on Friday, Nov. 14.
Player of the year Briana Ehrmantraut put on an MVP performance in the biggest game of the year. The Canadian Mennonite University Blazers guard scored 30 points to lead her team to a 77-71 win over the Providence University College Pilots in the MCAC women’s basketball final on Thursday.
Briana Ehrmantraut remains the standard no one has reached since she arrived at Canadian Mennonite University. The third-year guard is now a three-time player of the year in MCAC women’s basketball.
Starting a program from scratch is never easy, but Harold Memita has taken the Université de Saint-Boniface women’s basketball team a long way. In his second season, Memita has been voted MCAC coach of the year.
